in ,

Looking for the best things to do at night in Savannah?  I got you!

I took a trip to Savannah this summer and cannot figure out how to type fast enough to tell you all about my experience!

Savannah is a historic Southern city on the Georgia coast, known for its cobblestone streets, oak-shaded squares, and riverfront views.

But don’t head to bed early—Savannah transforms after dark!

Gas lamps glow, Spanish moss sways in the breeze, and the city’s haunted history comes alive.

As the sun sets, the city’s haunted history, rooftop bars, and live music scene come to life.

From ghost tours to speakeasies, this guide shares the best things to do in Savannah at night!

Things To Do in Savannah at Night: Rooftops

1. Peregrin Rooftop

Peregrin Rooftop is a stylish and scenic place to kick off your night in Savannah!

I visited around 5:00pm and it was an amazing way to begin the evening with all of the views over the Historic District.

Its spacious, modern setup with turf floors and comfortable seating is the cherry on top!

Peregrin has a laid-back but upscale vibe, perfect for cocktails and conversation as the sun sets.

It’s located in the Perry Lane Hotel

2. Electric Moon Rooftop

Electric Moon offers a more energetic rooftop scene, with bright lights, light-up cocktails (I know right?), and a lively crowd.

There’s even a slide connecting the levels!

This spot is known for its DJ sets and upbeat atmosphere, especially on weekends.

3. Merrell and Rose Rooftop

For a relaxed rooftop experience with a sunset view over the river, Merrell and Rose is the spot!

Located in the Plant Riverside District, it’s ideal for drinks and small bites with scenic views.

Try to reserve a seat ahead of time if you want a river-facing table.

Things To Do in Savannah at Night: Haunted

4. Ghost Trolley or Walking Tour

Savannah is one of the most haunted cities in the U.S., and ghost tours are a nightly staple.

Ghost tours are also one of the most popular tours in Savannah!

Whether you want to hear chilling tales of haunted mansions or spooky stories from the city’s past, ghost tours offer an entertaining and eerie walk through Savannah’s shadowy side.

Ghost tours take you through darkened streets, cemeteries, and historic homes while guides share documented hauntings and eerie legends.

Some tours use EMF readers or show photos of supposed ghost sightings.

It’s a spooky but low-key way to explore Savannah after dark and learn about its layered, often chilling, past.

5. Paranormal Investigation

Instead of hearing the ghost stories, do you want to make your own?

That’s exactly what you will do on a paranormal investigation tour!

I had NO idea what to expect before my tour, but it left me insatiably curious.

The experience begins by arriving at a historic building in Savannah.  Our investigation guides, Katie and Andrew, carefully explained the building’s past and present and provided detailed instructions for how to use the investigation equipment.

Katie and Andrew stayed alongside the group for tips and support as we investigated paranormal sights, sounds, and feelings.  Boo!

This is perfect for thrill-seekers looking to do more than just listen to stories.

Seriously- if you’re on the fence, sign up!

I loved my experience and would be so grateful to join Katie and Andrew again.

6. Haunted Pub Crawl Tour

Combine Savannah’s spooky legends with its bar scene on a haunted pub crawl.

You’ll hear ghost stories, walk through historic streets, and stop at local pubs and taverns along the way.

It’s a fun way to meet people and explore the city’s nightlife with a haunted twist.

Things To Do in Savannah at Night: History

7. Prohibition Museum

The Prohibition Museum is a great way to kick off your evening while in Savannah.  It’s open until 6:00pm, so I recommend evening visitors arrive no later than 5:00pm.

The Prohibition Museum walks visitors through the 1920s with immersive exhibits, vintage cars, propaganda posters, and wax figures of key historical figures.

You’ll learn about bootlegging, speakeasies, and the social tension of the era.

You can extend your visit by heading to the 1920s-style speakeasy tucked inside!

It’s open until 1:00pm Monday-Wednesday, and midnight Thursday – Saturday.  The Speakeasy is closed on Sundays.

The Prohibition Museum and attached Speakeasy is a fun way to explore Savannah’s spirited past while sipping a handcrafted cocktail in a vintage setting!

It’s a unique way to combine history with nightlife.

8. Speakeasy

There are so many speakeasies in Savannah. My favorite was a hidden speakeasy we learned was in the basement of our restaurant at Flok to The Wok.

Well I guess it’s not exactly “hidden”, because there is a separate entrance for it on Whittaker Street. But we had no idea that it was located under the restaurant!

It was fun to hang out at the speakeasy while we waited for our dinner to be prepared.

There are so many other cool speakeasies like this, notably at the Prohibition Museum. You can even sign up for a cocktail-making class!

9. JW Marriott Museum

The JW Marriott in Plant Riverside District houses one of the most unexpected attractions in Savannah—an eclectic natural history exhibit.

Like, what?!

Massive geodes, fossils, and even life-sized dinosaur replicas line the halls.

It’s a unique, free activity to explore before dinner or drinks.

The museum shares a building with Electric Moon Rooftop so this is also a great combined activity when you are in the Plant River District.

It’s also just footsteps away from Merell and Rose Rooftop, so it’s easy to combine these nighttime experiences.

Things To Do in Savannah at Night: Music and Food

10. Little Duck Diner

This retro-modern diner has fun decor and great late-night eats.

It’s open into the evening and offers solid comfort food, creative cocktails, and a lively but casual atmosphere.

Try the cheesy grits or a duck-themed cocktail!

11. Live Music Walking Tour

Music lovers can join a live music walking tour that stops at multiple local venues.

You’ll walk to several historic bars and venues where live music is performed—from jazz and blues to acoustic sets. Each stop includes time to grab a drink and enjoy the performance.

Tours are typically small-group, so it’s an easygoing, social experience.

It’s a fun way to discover Savannah’s music scene beyond the tourist spots and hear talented local artists in intimate settings.

12. Dueling Pianos Lounge

Create your own musical evening!

Dueling pianos is one of my favorite, unique ways to enjoy live music.

Savannah’s dueling piano bar scene offers energetic sing-alongs and audience requests in a cozy, often hilarious setting.

It’s interactive and always a good time, especially for groups or date night.

Conclusion

Savannah doesn’t slow down after dark—it comes alive.

From scenic rooftops and late-night bites to ghost stories and live music, the city offers a full lineup for an evening of fun!

Whether you’re sipping a speakeasy cocktail or investigating a haunted night tour, there’s something for every traveler at night in Savannah.
