2-Day Miami Itinerary
Day 1: South Beach and Downtown Miami
1. 21st Street Beach

Begin your Miami vacation by watching the sunrise at 21st Street Beach in the South Beach neighborhood.
21st Street Beach is a quiet, less crowded spot in South Beach. It’s a peaceful place to enjoy the ocean away from the busier crowds!
The wide sandy area is perfect for relaxing or casual beach games.
This is located across the bridge from Downtown Miami, and you will need to take a car to get here.
During my trip, my friends and I used rideshare apps to get here.
2. Brunch

There are plenty of amazing brunch spots within walking distance from the beach along 21st Street.
My friends and I enjoyed brunch at Orange Blossom and loved our experience! The outdoor patio is absolutely beautiful.
They also have an indoor section. The menu is extensive and features various options for dietary restrictions.
3. Shopping

After brunch, take a casual stroll along 21st Street. You’ll spot iconic, teal public transportation trolleys as you explore!
21st Street is also a great spot for shopping in South Beach.
You’ll find boutiques offering beachwear, trendy clothes, and unique accessories. Many stores feature local designers and Miami-inspired styles.
The shops range from casual to upscale, with options for souvenirs, art, and handmade items.
It’s an easy, walkable area to explore between the beach and restaurants. Perfect for picking up something special or just browsing.
4. Downtown Miami

Downtown Miami features a dazzling skyline.
The luxurious atmosphere is home to Michelin Star restaurants, a waterfront path along Biscayne Bay, and a huge marketplace.
I am craving spending more time exploring Downtown Miami on a return trip because it reminded me a bit of Downtown Chicago, a city that I absolutely love.

Day 2: Little Havana and Wynwood
1. Calle Ocho

Begin your second day in Miami along Little Havana’s classic street, Calle Ocho.
Start your visit at Domino Park, where locals gather daily for spirited games and conversation. Just steps away, explore a Cuban art gallery at the Cubaocho Museum.
Walk east along Calle Ocho to see the Bay of Pigs Monument and the Tower Theater. It’s one of Miami’s oldest landmarks and still shows Latin American films.
Plan for at least 2–3 hours at Calle Ocho.
2. Lunch in Little Havana

Lunch in Little Havana is a perfect midday break, filled with traditional flavor.
For a quick, classic bite, head to Sanguich de Miami. Their Cuban sandwich is made with house-cured pork and fresh-baked Cuban bread. It’s small inside, so go early or order to-go.
Prefer a sit-down meal? Try Old’s Havana Cuban Bar & Cocina. The vintage décor and outdoor seating set the scene. Popular dishes include ropa vieja, picadillo, and fried plantains.
If you want something more casual, grab an empanada or pastelito from Versailles Bakery Express Window, just a short drive from Calle Ocho.
Tip: You can take a food tour in Little Havana. I was planning on this if I had more time!
3. Wynwood Street Murals

After lunch, head to Wynwood—Miami’s street art district.
Nearly every building, garage door, and alley is covered in bold, large-scale murals by artists from around the world!
Look for work by internationally known names like RETNA, D*Face, and Shephard Fairey, along with local Miami talent.
The murals change regularly, so even repeat visitors see something new.
Wear comfortable shoes and bring water. Wynwood is best explored on foot. Plan for at least one hour to wander around.
Tip: Stop into local shops and cafes as you explore!
4. Wynwood Walls
Wynwood Walls is a curated outdoor museum dedicated to large-scale street art.
Inside the gated space, visitors will see over 35 murals, seven sculptures, and three indoor galleries.
The murals are created by internationally recognized artists, and the collection is updated regularly.
Admission is around $12 per person. Tickets can be purchased online or at the entrance. The site is open daily from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
You can explore on your own or join a guided tour, some of which include interactive activities like spray painting.
Plan to spend at least an hour here.
5. Dinner in Wynwood
After exploring Wynwood Walls and the local shops, head to one of Wynwood’s popular restaurants for dinner.
For Mediterranean flavors in a vibrant setting, try Doya, known for its shareable dishes and lively atmosphere.
If you prefer upscale Japanese cuisine, Uchi offers inventive sushi and sashimi in a refined space.
Another trendy choice is Kyu, specializing in wood-fired Asian barbecue with creative sides.
For a more casual vibe, Kush Wynwood blends Mediterranean, Euro-Asian, and American flavors alongside craft beers.
No matter your taste, Wynwood’s dinner scene offers a diverse mix of flavors and atmospheres to end your day.
