I visit Sedona multiple times per year, and the adventure activities, scenery, and tranquility keep drawing me back. It’s a perfect weekend trip from Phoenix and an even more perfect girls’ weekend!
Some of the best things to do on a Sedona girls’ weekend include a spa, stargazing, hiking trails, winery tours, and shopping at Tlaquepaque Village.
Day 1: Hiking, Jeep Tour, Chapel, Spa
Boynton Canyon Trail

Boynton Canyon is one of the top hiking trails in Sedona.
I recommend beginning the trail in the morning because parking lots can fill up quickly. The end of the trail brings you to one of Sedona’s vortexes. There is also an incredible photo opportunity beneath a tunnel overlooking the red rocks.
If you are looking for an easier Sedona hiking trail, you have tons of options like 7 Sacred Pools and Yavapai Vista.

Jeep Tour

Taking a jeep tour through the red rock mountains of Sedona is a quintessential girls’ weekend activity!
You’ll experience thrilling off-road adventures, breathtaking panoramic views, and a closer look at Sedona’s stunning rock formations.
The jeep tour also offers countless photo opportunities and a unique perspective of Sedona’s vibrant landscape, making it an unforgettable part of your girls’ weekend.
Tip: I do not recommend this if you get nauseous easily. Alternately, consider a Sedona Train Adventure.

The Chapel of the Holy Cross in Sedona is a stunning architectural marvel nestled within the red rock formations. Its awe-inspiring design and serene ambiance make it a perfect activity for a girls’ weekend.
Visitors can appreciate the unique way the chapel integrates with its natural surroundings, offering a peaceful space for reflection and photography.

Topping off a long day at a mountain spa is one of the best ways you can end a perfect day on your girls’ trip!
Enjoying the relaxation of whirlpools, massage, and facials surrounded by the comfort of your best friends in the Red Rock Mountains is a luxurious experience.
Some highly rated Sedona spas include Sedona’s New Day Spa, The Wilde Resort and Spa, and Sedona Infinity Spa.

Day 2: Hiking, Shopping, Winery, Stargazing
Sugar Loaf Loop

The Sugar Loaf Loop trail in Sedona is a moderate hike in the scenic Coconino National Forest. It spans approximately 1.9 miles, making it ideal for a short venture into the red-rock terrain.
On average, completing the loop takes about 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on your pace.
Other popular hiking trails in Sedona include Devils Bridge and Seven Sacred Pools.
I love Sugar Loaf Loop because it’s calmer and less crowded than other popular hiking routes in the area. I am also a rock climber, and many amazing climbing routes are here!
I recommend researching climbing routes on the Mountain Project and fully securing an area for safety before rock climbing.
Tip: Depending on the time of year that you visit, certain parking lots to heavily trafficked trails are closed, and you must take a shuttle bus. This happened to me a couple of times while trying to hike Devil’s Bridge.
Winery
Taking a winery tour with your girls is an iconic way to top off your Sedona girls’ weekend. There are several local vineyards you can tour or wine sampling at.
You can book a guided winery tour with lunch or pick a few of the wineries that look best to you!
Some popular wineries in Sedona and the surrounding area include Alcantara, Winery 1912, and Oak Creek Vineyards.
