Who is she and what is she doing here?
Hi! You’ve probably read my bio, but I wanted to introduce myself a bit more.
I’m a vegetarian, pizza loving, frizzy haired-dog person (who sometimes uses too many words in a sentence).
I’ve been travel writing for years- it just feels so right, like a release. Travel bloggers have played a PIVOTAL role in helping me plan for my trips, from budgeting to top locations, to hidden gems, and so on. After years of both successful and not successful travel, I was like, I think I got the hang of this! And wanted to give back. But struggled really with the point- there are so many other wonderful and established bloggers, what do I really have different to contribute?
A close friend pitched me some meaningful words, and I realized it was time. “All of our teachers had the same primary job: teach us. But some we connected with, some made the difference”. I realized, story-telling is about voice. If my voice could reach a certain audience, that natural employee in me wanted to make the difference. Help someone.
I was reminded my specialty would focus on shorter term travel for teachers and other full-time employees. While I am forever in inspirational awe (and, really, jealous!) of other travel bloggers who have quit their day jobs to travel the world, I just really love mine and my happiness is to have the balance of both! I like my cozy little home, having my close family and friends nearby, and being able to go back home at night.
This blog is to show you how I successfully and not successfully, on minimal pay, do both.
I also want to show you that I am NOT perfect, all of my trips are NOT perfect, and that sometimes I SUCK at taking photos. I’m here to be real. Let’s check out the beauty, and the disappointment. Because that’s life. This is a space for authenticity.
Please feel free to reach out in comments or via e-mail, I can’t wait to begin connecting with you! Let’s explore!
